But two free throws each by Eric Randall and Brandon Troutman helped put the game away for the Eagles (10-3, 4-2 SAC) down the stretch. OC started strong out of the gate, jumping out to a 24-9 lead and then 29-11 on a three by Randall at the 7:50 mark of the first half. After Reinke scored inside to make it 31-15, Shorter and Brandon Williams brought the Evangels back by combining for 16 points of an 18-4 spurt that made it a two-point game with 2:45 left in the opening half. The run featured a three by Shorter and a four-point play from Williams. It remained a two-point game before Reinke scored with two seconds remaining to give the Eagles a 41-37 advantage at the break. Shorter led all scorers with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-24 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 at the foul line. Shorter and Blake Larson led the Evangels with eight rebounds. Reinke's 26 points led six Eagles in double-figures. He shot 12-of-13 from the floor that helped the Eagles shoot a blistering 64.2 percent (34-of-53) as a team. He was also a force on the defensive end with six blocks. The Evangels did solid work on the boards, out-rebounding the Eagles 43-34 overall and a whopping 21-4 on the offensive glass.

Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Even though Will Reinke couldn't quite put the finishing touches on what would have been only the second triple-double in Oklahoma Christian Eagles history, his line of 26 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists turned out to be enough to lead the Eagles to a 93-79 win over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in Sooner Athletic Conference action Monday night (Jan. 2) at the Gaulke Activity Center.
